Recently got this RC-S1 mono mini from Japan. It's the smallest JVC/Victor I've seen. Anybody seen/own one that's smaller?

Waddaya think? This must be the smallest JVC (boombox, that is) out there. I don't see how you could make it any smaller!

Very cool mini,I love mine. The model number on the back of mine says RC-S1JW.

I noticed your Victor does not have shortwave like the Jvc,instead you have TV stations, Weird....

Looks like the VICTOR´s most have TV-channels.

Actually, it only has AM & FM. It has the full FM band (76-108MHz), but in Japan, FM radio only goes from 76-90MHz. The rest of the FM band is occupied by TV channels 1, 2 & 3.

There are 3-band radios for sale in Japan. The third band is usually the VHF-Hi band (174-223MHz) that has TV channels 4-12.

Of course, all this TV stuff will change when TV goes digital... which, in Japan, I think, is in 2011.

Victor is the name JVC (Japan Victor Company) uses for its products in Japan only. Copyright restrictions keep them from using it outside of Japan. These days some of their products in Japan actually use both names: Victor-JVC.

Looks to be identical to Skippy's.
