I got this rare Panasonic RX-D30 mini last week. I won it on Ebay and it is very rare and very well built. It is the heaviest and best built mini I've ever seen. It weights about 9 lbs!
It is a pearl white color and has seperate bass and treble,Ambience and lots more......
Here is (bottom left side) in a old catalog ad,WOW $419.95 when not on sale! That is a lot of $$$$ for a mini..
great find skippy
wow --a NINE pounder !!!
amazing for a mini anything
nice one , skippy
Thanks guys,I added a couple of pics....
Yes I Ira this sucker is a real tank It takes 6D cells too, that will add a couple of pounds extra to lug too.....

exc score skip!
Sleek and clean congrats Skippy.
Wow! I can't believe that originally cost more than the RX-5150 - $315. As a matter of fact, on sale, the mini still cost more than the JVC RC-M90!!!
That little mini better sound fan-freakin'-tastic. Great find, Skippy!
Great mini find!
I like colorful boxes.
Perfect score.
Congrats!
Awesome mini Skippy! Surely that radio achieves maxi-mini status at that kind of weight. I'm assuming the extra expense was for all the miniaturisation of the extra features in her.
There can't be too many of those around, as they can't have sold a lot of them at that price to begin, least they'd be well looked after at that kind of price point, as yours looks like it has been. I'm very interested to hear what the dubbing quality is like on her too, could be superhigh.
Classy as hell colour too.
Rock on.
Great find skippy !
I picked up one of these a few weeks back from the electronics recycle centre. Its not in the best condition, and certainly not as nice as yours, but i liked it so much i instantly decided to keep an eye out for a good one.
Congrats on finding yours, it looks good.
Sweet little box - looks like it's loaded with features!
Congratulations,
skippy!
That's a very nice looking Panasonic-thanks for sharing pics of it with us all.
Thanks everyone! It is hard to believe it cost that much when new. Back then, you would really would have wanted to have to have to have this model for some special reason to spend that much money on a mini when you could buy almost any larger box for the same or less money.......
skippy -- did you take it apart YET ??
are the speaker magnets 3 inches ??
that could help to make the 9 pounds .
Oh yes Ira, I've had it apart to fix a couple of things. And no the speaker magnets are about the size of a silver dollar. I think it is heavy because the cassette mechanisms and mounting frames are made of metal and it has a BIG power transformer. I think Panasonic could have saved weight by using an ac adapter instead.
ok thanks --
and i like the built in power supplies better than the ac adaptors --
you got a terrific box.

Me too Ira,it is a lot handier. Thanks Ira.
Wow Skippy. I like that Panny. It's loaded too.
Miniboomboxes are great!
Obviously this one was produced in limited quantity given its small size, build quality and the original price.Your very fortunate to have won it!
Thanks Adam!
Thanks Nicole!
Thanks Jovie!
it looks almost like a double cassette version of the rx f 20 which is a very sweet sounding mini it sounds much bigger than it is.

I believe this was the first high speed dubbing portable that Panasonic made, which might explain the asking price and exceptional build quality.
What a great find!
Congrats Skip! Those that are like hens teeth (rare) are the most fun.

6D size Batteries! DAMN! Is it loud? I guess when I think of these MINI's I have a preconceived notion that they aren't very powerful. But there has to be some serious juice in a 9+ pound stereo, regardless of size
