this is the first time I posted pics on this great site.I went over to the local goodwill one day and saw this baby on the floor. I couldn''t believe it when I picked her up and saw it. She is really in good shape..just missing a window and antenna and a couple of other issues that is easily fixed...but the price was right on when I saw it

I love stories like this, people getting cheap deals..its rare these days..
Congrats on that great pick up,i paid alot more than that for my J1..Mine had problems aswell but its all repaired now..
thanks all for the great replies guys....ya know, I was quite surprise on the sound of this unit...very warm bass and pretty loud too...when I sit down and look at it, it does make ya feel your ""at the hood""...this unit does have alot of bling, bling
This reminds me, the J-1 Super Jumbo was the first boombox I ever destroyed, and it was the last, my neighbor was cleaning out the shed and he gave it to me and said "have fun" yeah, we danced around it for about 5 minutes to "who let the dogs out" (this was in 1999 when I was 9) then we found some sticks and went to workm, I look back now thinking how stupid I was because I know I will never have one again
yeah bro, I think it''s safe to say that we all did some stupid things when we were younger....I remeber I had and still do an Aiko boomboox. I remebered when I wanted to make the thing sound alittle better and I attached some cheezy speakers I found in the the garbage. I drilled holes into the unit to mount the speakers on to it. I still have that boombox but now it looks like a ""swiss cheese"" box now and mice looked like had a go on it. I''m planning to restore the unit again using chrome sheeting to cover up the buchery that I did and add a 100 watt amp to it and better speakers in the unit for the improved sound
