also - you are supposed to use DOILIES when you stack em up
what no Aiwa CS-880?? nice collection but without the 880, just another group of boxes, LOL, taking good care of the CP7 for me that's good, ha ha!

Holy Banana!
That's a great collection, and an interesting way of displaying and photographing them. You were supposed to stop at 12?!?!?
Thanks for posting pictures from the lab.

Outstanding collection OS but I'm jealous about the space you have, I could use space like that for my collection.
Great shots, Freddie! Looks like you've been doing some cleaning in the lab.

Holey moley!!!!
Great collection
You can send a few over my way if you run out of room down there
Great pics and nice to get a perspective on the size of the studio 1 telefunken.
What do you think of that one so far as performance???
I have one coming and am curious.
I have heard some good things about it.
You have even some nice walkmans!
What a wonderful collection ... and so well organized, too! I haven't been able to put all my boomboxes in one place like that since... well... 1984!
Man thats an awesome collection. Well done OldSkool, I'd be super proud as well. Love the stacking too, look like little boombox temples.
I wish you well on collecting your next 48.
Rock On.
That an amazing collection you've got there, Oldskool!
So many really nice boxes to soak up!!
The Fisher PH-480 is a monster, it's rather a lot bigger than I thought. The G.E. Blockbuster, Realistic SCR-8 and Hitachi TRK-8180 are my favourites! The Realistic has to be your best looking one-piecer, and the Panasonic RX-C100 has to be your best looking three-piecer.
Thanks for sharing with us!
Oldskool, awesome pics! Although I wonder - is that even safe to put so many boxes on top of each other? In some pics you have as many as nine!!
You da man oldie thanks for showing us these fine boxes

(Sorry, that color had to go. I'm not a real man and it's a b**ch to read that Pepto Bismol pink!
)
Actually I stack my larger units no more than five or six, against a wall, slightly setting each one a hair rearward on the other to set any moment towards the wall. The top box (or in the case of small ones two) sits up against the wall and stabilizes the whole thing. As far as one piece units go, never more than three similar sized. Four if I mix it up. I actually have taken my C9 to church and stood on it as kids watched in amazement how well it is built.

It has choclatey rich bass. An extremely well balanced machine. Powerful and loud. And it too has undersized speakers for its power but they are well engineered and not chintzy. You will be pleased. Mine only has one good channel and it sounds better than half my stuff like that!
Keep in mind that running it on batteries is kinda pointless as it sucks them dry like Dracula raiding a Red Cross Bloodmobile.

Don't be! Did you see the paint splatters on the floor? That's block fill my friend. I am about to lose all that space!
(Expansion work.
)
What happened to that wonderful pioneer you had oldie please say you diddn't sell it.

great collection man, that sansui looks different (nice).
Oldskool are you sure it's safe to leave the C9 alone with the others?
Freddie I think I would have the most fun at your place due to my lack of experience with three piece boxes
Heck you may start a new obsession if I was there long enough LOL
Very nice stuff and a lot of it at that !
I could play in that basement for hours (or till the neighbors called the cops) LOL

With the other boxes sure! But if I had left it alone at the meet with you guys Ira might have grabbed it, took it to Boynton Beach, say he won it from Craigslist, and then blame Ramon since he'd claim to be too old to lift it and carry it off.

C'mon down! Fatdog has had a chance to get the "Sansui-Sanyo Experience". You'll be glad you did. And my house is solid enough that I haven't had to worry about the cops...yet!

Actually, I traded my JVC PC-3 to JT for his Hitachi TRK-8180E. (Next to the Blockbuster in the pic.) So now he's a part of the three piece family and on his way.
I need to get back down there one of these days and enjoy some spirited libations while listening to your entire collection in the round. Maybe by then, I'll have my custom Rising ready!
Just saw this thread!
How on Earth did I miss it?!
Great photos man!
Now Ive gotta go back and read the thread!
That fisher 480 is a godzilla. How does its bass compare to the Panasonic dt680 and the cx100?

It's a thumper but not as clean as the Panasonics. But very, very nice.
(I've also changed my PH-460 & 480 speakers to original white Fisher speakers. Not bleached or painted. The originals are black.)
