There's plenty of talk about minis right now, so it seems a good a time as any to do a comparison between the
Sony ZX-7 & the
Sansui FX-700R:
Sound-wise, they're similar; both very good for the size. Not oodles of bass, but a clarity & tone that does credit to the people behind their development. Because they were small, I guess they worked hard to make them sound more "grown up" than they looked.
Ah, those were the days.
If I had to find differences, I'd say the Sony has a more "laid back" sound (sort of smooth, like alot of Sony stuff) & the Sansui is more forward & crisp sounding.
It was late in the evening, so I didn't do a which one is loudest comparison. Wife & kids wouldn't appreciate that...
lovely!
I do think the sansiu is more mature, like it
does have a handle, but the zx7 does look better
with the tape door in the front!
Which one is more heavy?
to obtain either one of those two extra nice boxes --
i would even trade my original autographed photo of oldskool

I forgot to inform you Ira, my photo is worth less than a Milli Vanilli Gratest Hits album!
