Well the Panasonic 680 is a beast.
And the 5050 does bump for its age....I often use it daily.
But my first love is the bombeat 8900s. It was my first find and sound amazing!

Ira you should know that one it's the Panasonic DT-680 one of the unsung boomboxes. Plastic and all I still say they are a great sounding box even at high volume.

And I've got the DT-680. Bought one new back in 1993. They are fantastic.
cool boomboxes. i remember buying one of the panasonic 680s when they first came out. it was a unlucky boombox for me as my home was robbed a month after i got it.
i will get another at some point they do sound very good and for sure will be a future grail.
i think they are the last great squared boxes.
I remember when they were released I wanted one but too much $$$$ then for me. I need the remote to make my 680 complete.

burk --now that ford reminded me --i do have that awesome sounding 680 -- but never have heard the wireless bombeat -
if you ever do a side-by-side with those two --
and if the bombeat really does sound better ??
