New from the Bluegrass State

Here is a nifty near-mint unit that I found in the wild in Kentucky. It was the Goodwill store radio, and not for sale. After several repeat visits and speaking with the manager and several clerks, I was able to trade a new egg from Walmart for this beauty.

They were happy to be able to play cds and I was happy to leave with the JVC-R2JW on my shoulder.

Hint: Route 23 through Ashland, Kentucky and points west is loaded with pawn shops and "curiosity shops" that are ripe with boxes. I found several rough but workable boxes of Quasar and Emerson makes. Even found a "Hello Kitty" egg (insert snicker here).

Took this box in public and Generation Y (12-18 year olds) was fascinated by it. I let them know this was my i-pod, only better. Instead of tuning the world out, we tuned everyone in to what we were listening to.
