I made my daily trip to the Goodwill distribution center today. While looking for boomboxes,I found a Maggy D8300 in yellow (the "yellow submarine box" as I call it)with it's original shoulder strap! It was underneath a bunch of other stuff on a cart of items waiting to be put on the shelves. The box was quite dirty as if it had sat in someones garage for years. It cleaned up looking fairly close to new fortunately. The "B' decks door has it's left side pin snapped off so it's a bit wobbly.Though both tape motors work,I'm thinking the belts are too loose to accept a load. The tuner works fine through it's bands though the station markers don't move for some reason.I'm sure that's an easy fix.The nicest surprise was the boxes line-in.Though my two round speakered D8443s have poor line-in sensitivity that even my headphone amp struggles to deal with, this Yellow Sub d8300 has a nice and loud one requiring no assistance. Both of these different models require selecting "tape" and engaging the record button to get line-in sound. Now I get to compare this D8300 to my D8443s for overall sound quality and loudness.Based on my initial observation I'm thinking they will sound about the same.
You forgot to mention the paltry sum of money spent on your new toy.
Jovie and Skippy lucked out today!

the first color always appeared in the square tweeters again, underneath the grills.
Some of them were additional designed with "MOVING SOUND"stickers,or special decorations on the upper part of the box.
On the eu market they were seen first 1987 and were produced for about 2 1/2 to 3 years.
Booooooo! My day job won't let me go thrifting during the week!
Nice Score Jovie! Love the strap!
Well what I can tell you about this is that it's very effective on cleaning my great nephews poopy bottom!
That must mean that if I try to clean a post classic era plastic t*rd (as some call them) that the box would totally disappear.Hmmm...really not a bad idea...
Nice find!
