I finally won a CEC OL-7540 that I had when I was a teen. It took a while but I got one. Its not mint/new like the one a couple months ago on ebay that went for over $400 but it will do

It looks great Bill.
Congrats man!
A great price too.
Thanks Skippy I am pretty excited. I already have the one of its sister boxes (my avatar) the soundmaster which I got in awsome shape from germany but still wasn't exact box I had in my youth
Congrats! Those childhood boomers are the best ones!
Here is the ebay thread on the cec that sold for over $400

Very nice "oldskool" looking machine!
Never heard of CEC before...
But for this price you canĀ“t go wrong for your own grail.
Congratulations, Bill!! Your patience paid off big time.
nice buy bill --i had put in a little bid on that one also --
effectively- my bid cost you only a bump of 5 bucks
would not have even done that if i knew you were on it-
you got it at a great price, even so.
i do have one of these --its broken, smashed, missing lots of goodies - just a few things work-
but it STILL sounds very good !!
strong bass // great size to carry.
I am figuring that CEC is to you as my GE is to me
Glad to see you get a radio that brings good memories with it.
Really cool.
Johnny
Thanks guys
Really glad to see you get that one-and at an awesome price!I just couldn't let mine go as it's one of my more prized boxes.I'm keeping it stock while adding a set of tweets to my dog of a spare (as well as some other mods). My pristine one came with a decal on the back.Due to its odd placement I feel it could have originally appeared somewhere else on the units packaging.I guess someone decided to save it and stuck it to the back of the radio.
For anyone not familiar with this model its
quite loud and has pretty good sound. This is especially surprising given the fact it has no high frequency drivers.Even so,it looks beautiful with the horn facades! This ones from back when off- brands actually had some weight to them also (careful or you'll need an arm repair!).The line-in and control layout are perfect! It just really amazes me that this kind of quality went into budget boxes years ago.
Hey thanks jovie, but I still have to find a good tuner window and the little screw to match the tape deck to be all original
Congrats Bill,
It is a huge thrill to find your "first" boombox.
Mine was a Realistic SCR-3 - I got into a bidding war with someone else on ebay and paid $170 for a low, low end BBX that was really worth about $25. Crazy as it sounds, I'd do it again!
Once again CONGRATULATIONS!
I know exactly how is filing to find the first grail.
Congrats baddbill.
thanks guys, real excited about bbx. I hope to find parts for it
bill - here is a box being sold by one of our members --think its the same model -maybe it has all the parts you need---------
