djalexx1 - 2012-02-04 00:51

i just boughted for the looks, i wanted to do some art with it to display it on my recording studio, but since i stared to clean the unit, everythig start working and looking better the only thing is not working are the cassette decks but as soon i got time i will fix that i already have the manuals of how to do it, i want to fully restore the unit, even paint it,so ill be asking some questions here, to mantain the integrity of the gf777  the more i could,  i took this photo  the day i got the unit, today it looks way better,i will post the  finish product later. but i think its not that bad for $40.00 dollars paid, what u think??

Nice find djalexx1, the Sharp Gf-919 can also serve as a parts box for this model.

i found it in a gas station, i saw it like 3 years ago,and the owner dont want to sell it, so i kept going each year and ask, until couple of weeks ago i remember about the 777 and i visit him and i found him kind of drunk and in a nice mood  and he gave up and sell it to me, he told me to give him what ever i felt, so i gave him 40 dollars and a memorex radio i got, it cost me 25 last year, here its how it looks today, its on his way to look good, i still need 1 grill....its sounds nice, only thing is one of the subs sound really low volume, but before the whole left side didnt work, now its working with that problem. i dont know if u guys know this,im new here, so may be this is an old thing, but i polished my radio with formula 1 car wax carnauba... and its shinny like a mirror jejeje i could see my self on the radio

thanx all of you,  i really feel happy with my gf 777 , since i was a kid i wanted one, but my mom at that time could afford  buying me a small fisher brand boom box, now its one less thing i dreamed  having that i have today,...."money talks"... and im enjoying, today i sit outside with couple of my dj friends and have a nice time playing music  thru the gf 777 and just going way back into time,so that makes this 777 priceless, next moth they want me to take my 777 to a b-boy competition  and display it on the dj set up,i know its not a beautiful  777 to display at this moment, but i know it will be a nice conversation piece and may be i found someone with nice boom box  that i could buy for cheap, may be a conion, jejeje

Nice find and for $40.00 you can't go wrong. I wouldn't use wax myself because if you ever decide to repaint or comletely restore it,you'll have a fun time getting it all off but whatever works for ya bro
