What a collection Brick!   I'm GREEN with envy...Do all or any of the 55's have their original LCD backlights?

All the light work on the pc-55s . One of them has been replaced with light blue LEDs . The 550 has had the speakers replaced with 55 drivers because one of the orginal 550 were blown . I had to replace both of them because the 55 had different drivers for some reason . I also had to replace the buttons next to the LCD display because they were falling off .  I used a pc-55 I got damaged in shipping for the parts . I also do not have a handle for the 550 .  I really need one if anyone comes accross one .

I think the JVC PC-55 is the best ( Component ) Boombox ever made .

Brick i have to agree with you...the 55/550 was JVC 's crown jewel of components. Only the Sony FH-7 I think could come close but cassette deck in these units was second to none IMO
