im with drip trip on the citizen....thats one sweet n sexy unit indeed!the conic is another stand out piece and hell fire,dont forget my ultimate still to get another piece.....HITACHI 8600

bison my man!from big to small i loved them all very nice shot's to,i'am alway's fond to the big hitter's but still have a soft spot for the mini's.Well bison one thing's for sure you did own all of these at one time and a astounding site of a Collection.  Big Up!!!!

its about all there fit for the 3d"s rip the woofers out and then bin it 

they are good as you well know,i could not believe the sound difference when i put them in that pioneer..

agreed they made a big difference no doubt about that .

I like that Rotel from the first batch, can you tell me more about it? Impressions, sound quality, power, etc...

i gave it away Nevone to Reno,the speakers are impressive and it was a very loud/powerful unit,that said it wasnt Japanese made it was Korean i think so the build quality was iffy,it was on one channel so it needed work,for a shelf three peicer i would probably go for a JVC PC5

That Rotel does look a lot like a Sanyo C5, if it is as good as the C5 then it-s a winner.

I think the research was done in Korea but the manufacturing was done in Hong Kong

im with you there andy,you cant beat the jvc pc5-got mine and i love it-id love it more though if the damned deck workedits a shame because it sounds absolutely SUPERB!!!!!trounces a pc55 all day long

In this Toshiba 3-piece above, Did these speaker's originally come with the Oval Loudspeakers in them? 

Mine do not have these shape speaker's in them,

Can you explain if these were retrofitted from round to oval and what driver's were used?

I'm working on my Nikko (Rotel aka) at the mo and I'm pretty convinced its made by the same factory that made the Realistic SCR8. Its made in Taiwan. The deck shares a lot of parts that you will also find in the Realistic.

Actually it's not what you think it is... This is an RT-9000 and it had these oval speakers from the off. I got one from AO last year and it does sound better than the standard 8700 or 8740. This is the one that needs a handle because AO lost it!

Wait a minute.  I lost nothing, in fact i didn't even know it had a handle.  I always thought it needed a strap.

A really great collection  bison; some of my favourites there!
