I been using the m70 as a benchmark to compare with every other box.

So far in its size group it cannot be surpassed that O know of.

The 47w version is one notch louder, but then it also hits distortion limit one notch sooner.

Also I have noticed a slight difference in sound as I have both the m70c and m70jw.

The

overall sonic signature is the same yet the mids are slightly more on the woofers of the m70c whereas the mids are more reproduced by the tweeters on the m70jw.

I dont know if age has to do with it as the jw version was less used.

Also none of my other boxes, of same type and size, come close in loudness except for a Sanyo m9994k. I dont have many boxes anyway so I cant say.

So I think the Crown CSC has much richer bass was now five hours Mukke 4 belongs to the Crown 850l and 1 hour with the JVC m70 on both phono but when jvc distorted bass when there is too much

The M70 definitely cranks up the volume.....A great outdoors box......But there are other boxes that sound better at low volume levels when you're indoors.

I agree you have to put the m70 on the construction site and thus with a 3-story house demolitions sonicated :-)

Exactly.
I have noticed for loudness no other 6" or under  woofer boombox can match it, but for detail at low levels there are some nice boxes out there.

The m70 has a very unique quality at louder volume, where it does not have a "box" or confined sound, as other boxes have to a certain degree when pushed to limit.

Also
I was surprised as I recently obtained and is now my fav so far for lower volume and impressive detail is the JVC 828 for a very nice sound.

CoraFan Have you looked into the LED mod for this box?
It is very nice:

My best 1-piece box for detail and warmth at low volume levels is the Aiwa TPR-950
