This one has hardly been used & is in so much better condition than my other one.

CD player works fine with CD-Rs (& with +/-12% pitch control - a first for me  ).

The CD & tape doors still had the plastic covers on the windows.

All those crazy drum pad & rhythm toys are a bit of fun too.

Unfortunately the tape deck had one attempt & then gave up entirely. Almost certainly a snapped belt. I wasn't going to use the tape deck anyway, but it's nice to have it working. It'll be a while before I find the time to have a look. I think I remember reading somewhere that these decks are hell to work on?

i was watching that box iso,and i was soo tempted but had to resist..but i got the new Rv Nb70 a couple of weeks ago and it takes a huge dump on any other box i've ever hurd,the bass is mental lol..

yeah man they are crazy bass boomers,i cant recall any box having that much bang..only the panasonic DT680 gets abit close,and maybe,just maybe,the Jvc pc55 gets slightly close-ish,but nothing matches the kaboom..

i used to hate the kaboom but now i'm a massive fan..

could not agree more bm ,    another thing my 777 has had numerous caps re-placed and sounds so different i do think that 30 year old boxes suffer more than we think componant wise , i have two 9090"s and one sounds better than the other and my 9494 now sounds better than my 9696

These Kabooms are insane for bass.

Many have critisised the lack of treble & tweeters, however, I've found on the right setting, the balance of treble is fine. Most kabooms have preset EQ settings & a 6 stage superwoofer control.

Also, with the Drum-pad Kabooms (RV-DP100/200) there aer separate mid & treble controls with the 6 stage superwoofer control, so you effectively have a 3 band EQ. That said, the 'MID' control seems to be for Mid-bass rather than midrange.

I wrote a big post a while back cataloging the history of Kabooms, but it's gone now...

A brief history is as follows:

1990s on:

- lots of different models with the same form factor (casework) & same amp & speakers, but adding new toys, such as mp3 CD compatibility, different colours, etc.

there was a gap in production in the early 2000s.

- RV-DPs - even bigger than the above Kabooms, with drum-pads, scratch wheel, built in rhythm generator, etc. has a slightly higher power output than the standard Kaboom

- 550: "kaboom lite" a smaller, Kaboom looking JVC, with only 2 speakers & bass reflex ports. Available with light-up speakers (a la discolite)

Recently:
A new Kaboom with proper iPod compatibility, but with smaller woofers & less quoted power output.

Thats a great price on that box mate, that one slipped by my radar. Well done.

kabooms...i hate the things lol.....used to love em....TOTALLY.....i think dimenture is finally setting in.....always wanted to try a 200 though.....congrats iso lad

EY up flower where you been hiding lass??? you should post more oftern nicolle...you're a big part of the gang  well my work has been cut out today...my main pc has gone in for repairs..had to build another...only took quater hour though...it gets better claretbadger's gf9000 turned up....thank god nick packs as the pro's do...there was nothing left of the box that the 9000 was rapped in...but it had been wrapped in tuns of bubble wrap....what had you been feeding her claret...took an our just to clean the pinch bar...thought it was totally bent at first, so much grime lol...now she is playin like a goodyn after sorting out switches etc....the rest is gunna be a great challange for us..looking forward to it....oops most of this shoould be in the feedback section ahh well pollox to typin it all again....EXELLENT transaction CB your a star man,,,or is that a rocket man

sweet dell....the gf9000 well this one...although in the ultimate state....worse than my crown 970 sounds better than i remember.....you should see the state of it lol
