Recently purchased Z

Hi guys,
Recently purchased a VZ2000Z which is in ok shape.
Missing a few sliders as per the norm however when noticing that the power button was missing, thought it'd be inside the machine...
What's that next to the turntable spring? Looks like a mummified mouse?
Yep...there was a bit of mice shite underneath the mouse so either it went in there to die after eating ratsak or similar or somehow got in and was unable to get out
Any idea what the black plastic tube is?
I've found a service repair person here in south oz so will be taking it there once missing sliders are found along with relevant belts

wow that's a first, never heard of anyone finding a dead rodent inside a box
you wanna thank yourself lucky it did'nt go in there to give birth, otherwise you'de of had a mobile cemetery on your hands
maybe it loved boxes as much as we do and thought it would be a nice resting place
still.....better a mouse than a rattle snake or sydney funnel web

sorry, didn't want to be cryptic. i suggested a possible name and serial number for the z-sharp of this post. quick recap of the thought-process: A-Z, the first and last letters of the alphabeth, conventionally stand for birth and death. this usage comes from the greeks, who by the way gave us the alphabeth. in their alphabeth however the last letter is not zed but omega (hence A-&Omega. only one mouse was found inside the Sharp. i called him mickey and imagined it on a mission impossible, james bond-like except for the outcome: 001
(i know, i know. you'll excuse me i had a tough day at the office)

this must be the most up to the point comment pic by bison !
and a Big box like this must go in line with some big rodents and not
with some small spiders mosquitos or roaches!!!
I m actually feeling sick right now.

Might have been one of the boomtown`s.

Northerner, I did notice your smokers VZ yesterday, glad to see the residue is coming off with some hard work
'My' mouse is now in the bin although my dog appeared to be quite keen on eating it
I'm now thinking the black tube might actually simply be a pen that someone may have used to access the power switch
Like the references to the banksy mouse although imagine the size of a mouse to scale to a VZ? scary motherf2cker!

How did a mouse get inside this box? Through the battery compartment? Was the box partially disassebled? I'm stumped
I only ask so i can prepare 2 of mine for storage

I'd guess through the gap at the bottom of the turntable....mice can actually squeeze themselves thro way smaller gaps than you'd expect ...I live in the countryside so know such things!

Yes I know those little fellas can crawl through tight spaces...I discovered last night, one in my attic, which means many more are around. That's why I'm really concerend about storing my boxes for the winter in a crawlspace (except for a few of my regular players of course!)
You should have kept your mummified mouse and displayed it on a stick, mounted in front of your clean VZ. You'd be making a "Vlad The Impaler" statement to other mice!
northerner - 2012-11-15 08:18
Don't know how to protect your boxes as them pesky mice will chew through anything if they're feeling determined! Have to wrap them in a shield of steel ...or as you suggest put up dead mouse on a stick as a warning...or lock a cat in there too?
With this box it does beg the question of, it was able to get in why wasn't it able to get out?
deliverance - 2012-11-15 08:22
it could of been electrocuted the power board is just above it where it was found .

maybe old granny fancied a bit of a boogie so got out the vinyl, stuck some elvis on, an frightened the shit out of the mouse!! so much so the poor thing had a cardiac arrest

True, if it was plugged in.
I think I'll buy a Rubbermaid tub and put them in there. Fingers crossed..
