Gang, here's some pics of my rare Realistic SCR-1 - Model No. 14-771, Made in Japan.
It is fully functioning including tape and cosmetically a 9/10.
For those who may not know, the SCR-1 was Radio Shack's "First Official Boombox" that came out way back in 1978.
Anyone know what it is worth ? There isnt much info on it on the net.
I love how well this lil boomer is made. Looks great too !
Some pics :-)

I say very minty well made classic boomer, hard to find the older one's in a great condition state usually beat up a bit or well used.Remind's me of a marantz Another well made classic and sturdy build quality. Robb how does it sound?

It sounds very loud. I DONT EVEN HAVE IT AT 9 OCLOCK ON THE DIAL!
Its not the boomiest or cleanest sound though as it only uses 4" woofers.

Just as i thought most of the smaller well made boomer's deliver quite the loudness.thank's for the info Robb.

Agree great find and love the twin meters/multifunction. Very clean layout... classic. There is a site link below where all radio shack catalogs complete page by page from 1940-2003. Great reference to see orig. selling info and price /year sold. Enjoy the hunt. Its a great walk back down memory lane... used to buy so much in early 70's from there before hit college and graduated to higher end audio.

Your BBX was sold in the 1979 catalog for $ 179 New

i may be wrong but i think it's based on the sony machine produced at around the same time - there were several derivatives of that machine - i like yours very much, built like a tank & very reliable i would imagine!
