Hi there peeps,

I have started my collection with a Crown sz5100 and now have a royal flush in mind ?

I'm looking at the CSC 850, 950 and 980 ?

Just wanted the opinon of the good people at s2g.

Any feedback good or bad.

the csc boxes are much better quality than the sz.  thats for certain.   sz gets more attention ive found though, over any ive owned people always gravitate to the sz5100 for some reason

glad you still have the 5100 John never had any of the earlier csc models but have heard them and they sound nice and are much better made than the 5100.

this said the 5100 is a stunner there's an 850 on epay at the mo, looks very nice and sounds great i believe, hope that helps a little

Probably same as me and went for looks rather than sound and build quality.

I do really like mine but it lacks in bass.

Is there a certain CSC you would recomend ?

I still have it mate. like I said I do really like it but theres just not enought bass.

The CSC look better build so i'd think sound would be a bit deeper ?

yeah the 5100 does lack bass but it does'nt sound as bad as some make out.

i believe the 850 sounds quality with plenty of bass but i can't back that up as i don't think iv'e ever heard one?

nope iv'e had nothing since the 575 apart from a hitachi 8190 but the parcel guy wrecked that so it's a spares box now

ah right that's a bummer, yeah ya can't go wrong with a 9494, beauty of a box and sound to match and build too.

if you ever get the chance grab one their a top box no question. can't really go far wrong with a good gf box

yeah that's the 909L your talking about, it's a gem of a box but if you seen the one on ebey a few month or so back then you'le know the ridiculous price it sold for.

i think it was something like £1500 i could of hung myself after letting mine go for about £80

plenty of Crown boxes surfacing at the minute,i have the 850 and the 950 they are a big improvement in quality on the 5100,being made earlier when they put more into boxes,that said they are still way behind the likes of a JVC rcm70 in terms of build quality.

the 850 still sounds good and looks the buisiness..a must have imo

ive had one of these, sold it around 2005 and it was bassy.   its awesome!  grab one if you find it!

the only thing that puts me off the 850 tbh is the fact that it has no carry handle.

that aside it is a looker
