What box Would you be willing to pay the most for?how much

jason.hall - 2013-05-30 12:12

I paid $550 including shipping for my conion tc-999

northerner - 2013-05-30 12:21

I try to avoid spending my hard earned money on boxes...I've lived in Yorkshire too long

Part of the fun of this for me is seeking out a bargain so I've still not spent more than £70 on a box and long may it stay that way as I've managed some pretty good boxes on not much spends so far

deech - 2013-05-30 12:28

That is a great and wise decision Northerner .

This thread Jason should be hidden from potential sellers that

have the hawk eye on collectors like us.

What if i d say i d be willing to pay 3000 for a GF777?

litfan - 2013-05-30 12:31

The ONLY box, i would shell out really big money for, is, a mint, or boxed (as if? ) bombeat 40.

tight fooker

jason.hall - 2013-05-30 12:39

>a very wise decision on your part Northerner. Here in the U.S those bargains are
becoming harder to come by. I have also found a less costly hobby in finding some rare hip
hop cassettes to bump in my boxes

elektroneko - 2013-05-30 12:44

I still hope to find a GF777 at a thrift shop for a price that I can pay

Even if I had more money to spend, I think I would still not pay more then about 200 euro for one.

A normal price for a bigger box is about 30 a 40 euro imho.

I got lucky one day and found one on eBay for $225 and even though I already had one I couldn't pass on that price

northerner - 2013-05-30 13:01

You've got me well sussed there Lee, I am a tight fooker...and proud of it! Lol!

radio.raheem - 2013-05-30 13:12

none really....paying top dollar just increases the resale value...and encourages greed from some people on the bay....i would have paid alot for a bombeat 40 at one point but now i know the sound isn't that good im not bothered anymore

i suppose the ones i would pay the most for are the boomboxes from my past but i have them all now atleast all the good ones...the latest being my panna fd-80

lav.loo - 2013-05-30 13:23

I would pay crazy money for a minty d8614 if I had the cash and I didn't already have one probably the sort of coin you guys would pay for an m90

northerner - 2013-05-30 13:32

I would probably even stretch the budget to £75 for an M90...I'd just take the extra fiver out the kids pocket money

classic si lol.....went into my paypal yesterday looking at what id paid for what....turns out my m90 only cost £200 that's less than i paid for my panna fd-80...im quite proud of that even though the deck needs fixing

northerner - 2013-05-30 13:55

Aye, can't knock £200 for an M90...even I'd pay that much...it'd hurt and I'd have to have a lie down after but I'd do it

that's a smoking deal raheem. I paid $400 for mine but its a m90c. With the Japanese writing and the deck needs fixing too

radio.raheem - 2013-05-30 14:07

yea the receipt puzzled me for ages as i couldn't work out what it was for (thought id been scammed by the bank) then i remembered the guys name....so it makes the broken deck alot more palatable happy days

yeah I used to have 500+ cassettes but when I switched over to CDs I traded all of them
in. Now I'm building my collection back up mostly of rare early 80's and 90's hip hop. I have about 75 cassettes so far
