Ok so I've never liked this Panny's looks...it sounds really good and has a proper line in but it's probably the ugliest box I've seen

So I decided to do something about it and over the last few weeks when I've had a half hour to spare I've been working on it.

Took more work than you'd think to get everything right but basically I cut out the dull waffle grills, modified and attached other speaker grills adding a bar across the middle, filled all the gaps and holes, resprayed, then added a bit of bling

Would make a good festival box I reckon

Niiiice! You've improved the look of this box by 10 times at least! like the LEDs too, excellent work, looks very professional matey!

The protective bars in front of the speakers

are a nice touch.

It was just a bit of fun to work on my modding/repair skills...wanted to work on a box that was worth the hours but I wouldn't be mortified if I wrecked it. It's all good practice and good fun doing it

very nice si,very nice indeed,now you have a radio that looks as good as it soundsit beggars belief why panasonic didnt make this with open face woofers in the first place,as it looks miles better like this,and im glad you managed to sort the led's on it-if ever you get rid,remember im a fellow yorkshireman and the code of us yorkies-we trade on to our own lol

Sorry to go against the grain here but I like the RX-5300, it has that European Industrialist look. You're work seems top notch but if I were honest I don't think it's been improved much. But let's be honest here, this is exactly what this hobby is all about so hat's off indeed.

yeh I experimented with various set ups but it needed something to protect the speaker, plus it gave me something to fit another LED in

Thanks...it took many hours of work!

Shame its on Gumtree as Andy's quit collecting yet again.

As soon as I have a bit of spare time I'm gonna mod another with excessive LEDs just to rile the purists ...got all the kit ready and waiting
