Hello everyone. I'm a new member to this forum but I'm "vintage" when it comes to stereo equipment. Thanks to the garage-sale-savvy of a co-worker I am now the proud owner of a Sharp VZ 2000. He picked it up for $1 and gave it to me. We think of it as "the baby." I've done the major cleaning and only the turntable is DOA, so further restoration is on the way. Here are some pictures, including the pic from the ride home. This thing weighs as much as a small child so I figured the seat belt was a good idea. I'll post more pics as we go.

Looks almost as dirty as mine was (http://REPLACEMENT ERROR/topic...lthand-a-vznow-clean) but its well worth the effort to get it fully clean and working....there is even a step by step guide to stripping down the turntable to rebelt it so its not that bad a fix if you're well used to old audio stuff.

Member Bredgeo on here can even remake the missing sliders for you

Great score and virtually free always loved the look of the vz's but I think they should have made the slider controls less flimsy still a cracking score and great beast of a box
