Marantz Superscope

Ive been looking at some of the older boxes lately. I love the vu's and chunky switches also they mostly look like they have a solid, strong build quality.
So when this Marantz popped up on a bin or best offer, i throw in an offer and got it
It is indeed built like a tank. It has seperate phono in and line in, bass, treble, 4 band radio and great needle vu's. Deck is totally non-responsive.
Sound is very nice though not a bass monster, good low volume.
Its also my first box with the antenna that comes straight up out the box rather than a fold down, why didnt more boxes have these?
This wont be everyones thing, and tbh im not going to start collecting all the 70's stuff myself but these early units are relatively cheap and are somthing a bit differant to add to your collection.
Here it is in all its 70's brown glory, at least i think its brown, it needs a damn good clean

it has 7 buttons at the back are they for memory save options for the fm radio
if I saw this radio it would be an easy choice to buy it has everything in a radio worth having

Well done MJ. Marantz is quality all the way!
My guess is having a fixed antenna limits recieving some weaker reception bands?
Regardless that fixed one looks swwwwweeeeet!

Thanks Guys.
Soundboy, the buttons on the back replace the standard fuction switch, so theres line in, phono, tape, fm etc
