Panasonic RX C20 one Deep mini!

My favorite Panasonic mini! Deep body with deep bass! (at lower volume) This unit is great for good sounding ambient music. Full logic control tape deck with Dolby and Metal/cro2 ability. Mine still has the sticker on the tape door! Not enough photos of this unit on here so here's a few more of this timeless classic!

Nice unit
The angular Father of the RX-300E ?
A few years later an egg would be laid and things would never be the same

I've been looking for that one! One of the Platinum series, right? Yeah, I like all boomboxes that are "boxy". Those egg shaped spaceship looking ones just dont cut it.

If they used that name it was only in the marketing. Definitely an upmarket unit though and one of the first with full remote control of almost every function.
I actually bought this one new back in about 1993 for £230 in a sale at an upmarket department store here in the UK. In a different thread Radio Raheem says he remembers paying £300 which sounds about right for the original price.
A minus compared with your RX-C20 is no line in. Another minus is a bit of hiss on the headphone jack. Finally the speaker wires look to be neater on yours, although the RX-300E is bi-amped so has two pairs to each detachable speaker,
Where was your RX-C20 made ? Like the Eggs that followed the RX-300E is from Singapore

Very nice unit! It finally looks like a competitor for the Sony ZX3/ZX7. I wonder if they are of the same size.

I was looking for a picture of the Sharp QT95, but the very first box on this site
http://hifi-love.comxa.com/1_2_boomboxes.html
is a Panasonic RX-C45 which looks as if it might be from the same era as the RX-C20. There are some very nice other pictures on that site. Well worth a look.
