Apparently these haven't made it to the US yet.
http://www.hispek.com/P/JVC-RD...e-Stand(RDHA3B).aspxI'll stick with my RV-B99BK. Even though it's cassette doesn't work anymore, at least it's got a tuner, a strap, and my iPod works just fine through the aux in.
that's rediculous to even consider that a replacement. The kaboom was one of the best ever made.
JVC RD-HA3B (Kaboom replacement?)
...no
That's what I thought. Sure it uses the same amplifier scheme...and it's portable. But it's just an oversized iPod dock.
Just saw a nearly new in box RV-NB10W (the white Kaboom w/cassette) is up to $940 on eBay.
Yikes!
That iPod dock doesn't look like a boombox
, the mighty Kaboom does.
I trust, believe & hope that JVC will be back whith something to replace the Kaboom.
It's surely unchallenged length of production run of over 10 years (albeit with some gaps), means it was due a replacement long ago...

That may have the stats but it doesn't have the look or feel. I hope that's not what JVC is considering for their current line of boomboxes.

The cassette deck seems to have been the weak link in the Kaboom. I have several, and the decks are the first things that have gone. Of course, the last issue, the NB-20, didn't even have a cassette deck, so... problem solved!
Without a cassette deck, my Kaboom buying days are over. I'm not part of the iPod generation, and I want more than a radio and a strap for $300.
I have the green Kaboom (early model with regular CD and not MP3). Man I love that thing! It still plays like a champ even after one day when it got rained on hard and got totally soaked to the point water would pour out of it. I put it in the car with the heater on for a couple of hours and saved it! That was 5 years ago and it still kicks but. I don't use the CD or Cassette any more. I just plug in my Sansa Fuze and use it for MP3/FLAC sources. I wish JVC or CONION would revive the ghettoblaster days and put out some new products already.

My cassette deck broke after very little use (though I managed to fix it, turned out to be a mechanical issue). Just not a very well executed design, IMHO overly complex. Motorization is OK, but it doesn't make the deck sound any better.
Perhaps demand will rise again (if ebay is any indication, it already is) and we'll see another release of the Kaboom as we know it. My guess is the cassette section may be gone for good, though.
There's still a void to be filled for a powerful, quality portable like the Kaboom. If JVC doesn't do it, maybe someone else will.

That definitely looks like a next gen Kaboom to me. A step in the right direction, much better looking. A shame the deck is gone, but that's to be expected.
A bit more poking around on the internet reveals that this is rather similar to the last Kaboom, so I shall retract my previous comment
Anyone got a source of full specs or a manual online? support.jvc.com is coming up blank for this one for some reason...
http://www.justklapp.com.au/KL...egoryID=54&prodID=47Was sold in au for a while sold one thru work to a friend. Harsh high freq sound (to me) up close but nice bass and balance in an open area when you stand away from it, has a habit of rolling and breaking the jvc-ipod cable $$$ non standard type. Chews thru batterys quick had to make a 18v rechargeable for my friend.. Not a massive fan myself..
Hi People's.....On that topic to bring back the oldschool box is easy ,sure they can manufacture them again but at today's cost.let's say a conion C-100 at $500.00 in (1984) would now in today's money would be around $1,500
.so for me i'd rather collect those oldie's and rock the block with the original bad boy's And not some remake,Jus My Thought's
As you were, people.
It seems that JVC's replacement for the Kaboom is...
another Kaboom.
the RV-NB52, with much better iPod integration that the earlier model.
I can't find a thread on here about it, so I shall start one now...

Harsh highs are better than no highs (Kaboom)
