http://www.p4c.philips.com/files/a/az1816_55/az1816_55_pss_aen.pdf Philips az1816 about 6 months ago-it's a nice USB/CD/Radio portable stereo.
The DBB bass boost feature works nicely, as do playing music from a USB device.
Playing music from a USB stick is something it took the manufacturers a while to adopt. In the past year or two,we've also been seeing more aux-in ports on portable boxes. It would seem that the popularity of docking stations has caused the manufacturers to expand the capabilities of regular boomboxes. This is a good sign as inputs were a core concept of the original boombox. As a collector of old boxes, inputs are a top priority on my checklist!
the second one down is very cool, it can play usb from pc and the remote will skip tracks from usb, it also has a bass radiator and pretty decent watts too, but the best bit is it has an oldschool style vu meter only one but its a start.
i had one for a while good sound still lacks in the highs though very cool looking with loads of dials and stuff on show
I like my AZ1816 as it has a line-out jack, as well as a headphones jack.
I think it sounds very nice-the speakers are quite loud.
Also, I got a service manual for it and Sanyo makes the CD mechanism used in the AZ1816.
