The 2007 TEAC "Disco Jam" boombox prototype

kvmoore - 2008-02-09 22:04

Yeah, that would be nice as well.

I wouldn't expect that much, but it has a nice old school look to it. I cannot recall any Teac product that ever knocked my socks off. They made fairly solid home gear, but nothing of note in boomboxes.

I would, however, very much like to be ridiculed for being COMPLETELY WRONG about my expectations should it indeed rock Smile

<----- RX-C100, my favorite, you cannot go wrong with one of these.

Your right about that Panafan, my Sansui CP-99W can't out bass it against 6 inch Woofers, even though I think it has better overal sound. Big Grin That would be a tough row to hoe for TEAC in a one piece cabinet. Smile

TEAC news anyone?

masterblaster84 - 2008-03-20 19:28

I'm guessing no since the Teac news has been silent everywhere. Do we even know if Teac will build it or was this just a prototype to gauge reaction?

jt - 2008-03-22 07:38

I fear my email to TEAC pleading for them to build it, but also cautioning them to build a high quality piece of good-sounding equipment must have scared them off of the project completely.

I e-mailed them as well asking about the actual release of the "disco jam" with hopes that it would crush the Lasonic...needless to say teac gave me the fat middle finger with no response period....And I wrote it to the sales department about a month ago...oh well....

This new box is just another ironic toy to sell to the ironic hipsters, for its retro appeal. All that these people care about is looks and fashion, thus nothing that I've seen marketed to them has been of any real quality. I'd love Teac to prove me wrong, but I doubt that this new piece will be any better than the boomboxes at Walmart.

So ironic
