Is Aiwa TPR-920 good for a first real ghettoblaster?

Hello folks!

Though I like walkmans, I have recently become aware of how cool boomboxes can be. I have a panasonic RX-DS18 which I got for my birthday about 10 years ago and I must say it's quality built. Everything still works perfect and the cd drawer which I swore was going to fall off or something works smoothly as ever!

I have searched for a good boombox on the local news ads here and found something interesting - an Aiwa TPR-920. Now I know Aiwa made some really good cassette decks and walkmans back in the days, but I didn't knew they had such cool looking boomboxes. From the looks of the pictures, it looks very good. Has nice speakers, a cassette deck, a vintage style knobs and switches, a traditional tuner with manual tuning scale which is very neat (I don't like digital lcd stuff, this seems more human). The owner cannot say when it was made and is selling it/her (is Aiwa a girl?) for about 9$ in your currency! I think it's a steal.

So, is this Aiwa what I need when on a picbnic or barbecueing in the backyard. There's something really cool about vintage stuff hooked up to something modern like a cd player or something.

Also, if it is broken in some way, is it difficult to fix it and can I get the parts from somewhere?

I would really appreciate all the help you can provide guys! Thanks very much!

Cant go wrong with the 920.
It reeks of classic boombox and build quality is superb.
I understand the deck is not easy to work on though I have not had the opportunity to work on one.
