omeGawd! Where R U? And is it available and if not, were they popular & thereby available if we looked around some more. All these questions now that my eyes gaze upon it once more, thank you ever so much!! Is it not everything I said it was? In retrospect, I sold it a year later after paying $169 for it,
for a mere $40! The only consolation, I sold it to an old friend who right now I don't know where he is & probably no longer has it, even if I DID find him! So please, if there's any way we can collaborate to find another or this one if the owner wants to give it a new & deserving home (When I bought it I was working in a printing shop in Wall Street NewYork), I used to take it everywhere including work, lol!
Well, I'm rambling, now, I'll just shut up now...

Am I chatting with TPR, or Panasonic fan? Either way, would you guys be willing to help me research my reunion with my very first boombox? It doess'nt have to be in mint shape, as close as possible is fine, & I will be 4-ever grateful!! Again, thank you SO much!

- 2009-06-16 22:05

Ok, TPR & Pana..Fan, I was off track on the 2 halves, as the empty speaker box is actually on the LEFT, not the right side, but even with how
smart looking and sharp the newer generation of boxes is, they did not have better features, mine had a two channel level adjusting wheel on
top, easy as heck, & had 2 separate input jacks, one for phono (mag) and the other for high level input. It had line out also. The speakers separate up to 3 & a half feet but you can carry around the right half with the FM & tape in it. That's what I mean when I say there's other things about a boombox that are more important to me apart from looks. My 7490 sounds like something you can listen to for hours without getting fatigue. And I used to do just that. 'Nuff said, lol!

- 2009-06-16 22:25

TPR or Panasonic Fan, my first question is, whereEVER did you FIND it? It looks as good today as it did 40 years ago (I'm 62 years old). How can something so old still look so good? I'm impressed at how I was attracted to quality stereo even back then only a couple of years from when Norelco finally had a marketing plan for the "4-track cassette" cartridge, which was originally "closed loop", much like 8-track. And so the question, where did you get it, if it is yours (maybe you are sending me a photo, maybe I am not so blessed as to have found it again.) And at least I now know I have the hope of recuperating another
copy someday.

TPR, how about the Sanyo M7025 (That's what I remember of the serial/model number)? Have you seen a good sized silver front (not plastic, aluminum and smooth). Two VU meters about 1.5 (approx) inches square, all the buttons and knobs up on the top edge the transport in the center surrounded by two 8 in. woofs. Tweets on the top outer corners. The grills black, everything else silver. A beautiful b/box. Rich warm sound (very like the Pana7490), rec level and selectable ALC as well. Stereo wide, separate bass/treble, fine tuning w/separate coarse tuning, in/outs on rear, about 12" high, about 5" deep, about 22" long (not a shabby construction) She was heavy but had a silent quality about her hard to find, and top quality (like I've said before, quality is more than looks for me, as I'm more the audiophile than the collector), but when it comes to finding a b/box there's nobody like you guys.

ALBA karaoke machine:

PANASONIC ,modern one:

Unknown label:
PROFEX , ugly egg, very damaged
Same in base as ALBA with IBBN 7-13121

Label:

I was looking for a cheap stereo for the working area from a friends car repair.
Then i found this one, label in base unknown Smile
NAN HO (NH-9000), must be a chinese machine

It´s a boombox, no question.
A extendable handle at the top and too sad: The speakers missing Frown

It owns many functions and the quality tastes quiet good. Clock, title search, 10x equalizer,... Rare for chinese machines...

To sad about the speakers. So not worth to save.
Label:

But the hammer is:
This box is not plastifico. The whole body is made of wood!! Eek
The backside of hardpaper!
From behind it looks like an antique tuberadio.
But it owns a big battery storage

Very strange find... Roll Eyes
