I've succumb to boombox addiction. I never considered myself a collector as I only got my 777 for sentimental value. But I saw this boombox on ebay and all these emotions and impulses from my childhood came racing back!!!

As with any addict, I will not take any responsibility for my actions. I blame you; all of you!! It's not my fault!!
..tell you what though, in sound terms, pound for pound this is actually a better box than my GF777. It is half the weight at around 6Kg and it is really lound with crisp highs and the smooth bass every one talks about on this forum.
The cassette deck needs new belts so if anyone knows what belts will work in this I'd be gratefull; that's the least you lot could so since you dragged me kicking and screaming into this addiction.
So what do you think guys and girls?
what make an model is this again? as i have seen this somewhere around...

Those 850's are fantastic looking boxes, the only downside for me is that they have a carry strap, I prefer a handle.

You must have spent quite a bit on those! Nice boxes though. The real treasure is the little bundle of joy perched in the middle!!
Retro addict: People have mixed feelings about the strap. It's actually one of the things I really like about it.

gettoman.....the only reason i was pickin one up was at a ham radio rally in rochdale on saturday......i mailed the organiser and he said he had a sharp gf 525 and i could have it for a fiver so i poped up sat morn....i usually get them delivered to my house.........the mrs cringes everytime one arrives.......im actually in blackpool. i was born in manchester (harpurhey) but moved up to blackpool when i was 4.....am 40 now....dont time fly.................lovin the conion
