hey everyone
not sure many of you out there will know about this, but in the 90s a ship called the salem express sank while on a pilgrimage to mecca.now on board where many many people, and tragically the loss of life was huge.
but you might say what has this to do with our passion for the ghettoblaster?well ill tell you-many of the pilgrims were carrying personal stereos and boomboxes.if you feel upto it, do a search on google for the salem express, and take in some of the dive expeditions that people have done to the wreck- you will see many a photo of waterlogged boomboxes and radios- see if you can identify any.
i mean this post purely and simply out of respect, and to anyone on here who lost someone on the ship, peace be with you, and sorry for your loss.

I saw on the news a while ago that a cargo ship went down aslo - on board were merc's - bmw's - bently's - jags - roll's - but all the top models - think how much that lot would be worth - now sitting at the bottom being new homes for the fishes

You crack me up Xyc0n!!!
But getting back to the subject: It is indeed a tragedy when life is lost. Does anyone know how the ship sank??? You know, no matter how secure a ship may be, the thought of it sinking will always be in the back of your mind!!!
Believe me, after spending 4 years aboard an Aircraft Carrier (USS Dwight D. Eisenhower CVN-69), I know alot about ships!!!

yo- the condor`s speakers must have been detached and eaten by some fish...
guys
hello from yorkshire england
i belive the salem sank because it went into unchartered ground and hit a hidden reef. they reckon upto 1500 people went down with her.that is a sad loss, but what a burial at sea for all those boxes!there used to be a picture of a 3 pce box down there with a cassette still in the slot, and play button still pressed on- how eerie is that?
thanks for the response, guys

by the way bendy- the ship you mentioned with all the high end motors on was the tricolor- and it was actually raised. you should have seen all the "brand new" cars still on board.it was heart wrenching. not as heart wrenching as if it was loaded with mint condition conions, m90s etc etc.
