Here's a before and after of my flea market find
Nice JOB on a Nice FIND. I just love the sound of the RS-466's. This looks like an International version of that model. Nice that yours has a balance control. The ones here in the states have 2 volume controls (left/right) instead of balance and volume, which was just plain stupid.
Thank you SN. You obviosly know a lot more about this model than I do; which is nuttin'. Is it easy to remove inards? The tuner window could do with a good clean. Otherwise it is in excellent condition and as you said has a superb sound.

I'm going by memory here but if I recall correctly, it was easy to open up and clean the internals. Changing the belt was a different story though. I believe that job wasn't nearly as intuitive. The RCA jacks in the rear need a good cleaning as it could cause the sound to cut out. Those line-out jacks have built in switches that shuts off the speakers when connected to an external amp. I think I've seen that feature on only a handful of other boomboxes, and not for that reason either, rather to switch off the internal phono amp when an external source is connected to line-in instead of phono-in.
It always nice to see some thing covered it dirt and dust come back to life
top work and a great clean - hope you proud mate - sweet looking box
cheers B
Nice job, cleaned up really good
