How do the 5500 and 5600 compare? I don't see how any box could sound more clear with voice/acoustical than the 5500 does.
the 5600 is a better sounding unit, but the margin of difference isnt that great-both these machines are really great looking, and very, very nice sounding.at this stage panasonic had really peaked in the quality of their boxes.for me everything post 83 (ie 3 piece era) is inferior to the traditional 1 piece boxes-not just from panasonic but in general.both the 5500 and 5600 come highly reccomended by me-but you cant have mine-these 2 are keepers forever.i just love them.
just ordered a gf6500 mono off ebay-wanted one for absolutely ages-a real personal grail for me!

its the big mono one with apss, needle vu and on board removable microphone-its not mint but itll do as far as rare mono boxes go.

assuming your on a pc i think you right click on the image, goto properties, highlight the url for the image, copy it.
then come on here, in the reply box where you type, click on the box above the text part with the image on the far right (its next to the < / >)
paste the url in, job done.
you can do that for pictures you find anywhere
tried bill-the ebay 'activa' page for the image woulnt let me.

thanks bill-im using a library computer with limitations you see-its restricted compared to a home pc/laptop-something else i dont have.but yes-there she is, in all her glory!a bit messed up, potential stuck-on play button but hey im not bothered-and at last-you guys have seen one of my boxes
my new gf has just arrived-not unpacking it though till tonight-im glad shes here before the easter bank holiday, cos i dont hold much hope this weekend at the bootys judging by the weather thats been forecasted around here, but as usual ill be there, doing my bit for boombox preservation.

That's sick that you got it for 3 pounds. They have one on display at Turbosonic!
JDM GF-990G
hes lucky, old bill.
got the gf 6500 unpacked.this thing is really cool-the play button wasnt stuck on, merely just not turned off the last time it was used,it all works, including the apss, and im very proud of it.it even sounds really good-very bassy and clear-remember folks its a mono-this could put some stereo boxes to shame-sound wise its a bit like taking something like a gf 9090/9191, putting the balance to one speaker, switching to mono and away you go!its really, really nice-only criticism would be they could have put the speaker more on show on this one.still, its nice and early, its rare, and its a keeper for sure.not quite as nice as the m80 im getting shortly though, from a dear friend of mine, say no more!
