hi all
looking at the sony cfs-99 and like what i see through various pictures ive stumbled accross. but, a few questions folks-
are they any good?
are they expensive?
whats my chances of dropping on one nowadays?
let me know if you have any pearls of wisdom to share.

Thge cfs-99 is the big brother to the cfs-66 & cfs-77 & cfs-500. The 99 has quite a bit more power - like 24 watts of power consumption. Has lots of neat slide rule controls. Also like it's slanted panel. They bring pretty good money.....six months ago one went for $245.00 on ebay. These early 80s Sony units were still made in Tokyo, Japan. By 1986 production of boomboxes had moved to other parts of Asia....the quality dropped on Sony at this point.

As Litfan told me (and I agree), they kick like a mule. Very powerful sound, a little light on the highs but you can definitely hear them. And, heavy.

Overall, a nice box.

i imagen they are very rare...
what do you want to spend on them thats what you you will have to spend..
that radio is unique......

i would look online just keep entering the name on line and see what pops up...
