andyboombox - 2009-09-10 05:19

to all the folks of boombox land
right, whats youre favourite brand, and why?
mine is sharp. i chose sharp because they are so well made and long lasting. i own three gf's-a 450,525,and 9090, and theyre all bullet-proof.
and whenever im looking for new specimens, its always sharp units that i find. almost like they hunt me out! this i dont mind. i aim to add a gf575,9000,9797 and 8989 to my collection in the near future. i also love the look of those earlier gf,s too.
so, whos next- whats your fave, and why??????
andy.

Although I've answered this question before, I don't mind answering it again. Wink

My favorite brand has always been Pioneer's SK-95 Series!!! It was very advanced for it's time when it came out, plus, it's a Cool Lookin' Box anyway!!! Cool

National Panasonic, definitely. Smile

I was grown up with my RF (on the avatar), and I am stunned by his endurance and quality.
This brand has produced a very unique, significant and long-term models as is the 5100, 5700, 7000 serie and many oters recent model. Smile

Crown -- the best lookers
Panasonic -- the best engineered
Telefunken -- the best sounding

Gotta agree with andy v Nod Yes

Of all my boomers, my 9090 is my fav, no doubt about it, although the 777 comes close.
Panasonics are a close second, and I've heard so much about the Telefunken Studio 1M that I hope to one day have the opportunity to let it prove itself... Big Grin

--------------------------------------------------

Hey, Gettoman..... Where did you get the GF9500????

Is that the original that you "Originally Bought" in the pic????

im.out.of.hear - 2009-09-13 12:08

Hi Bredgeo,no unfortunatley it is`nt the origonal one i got new, that one only survived a year..
this one i`ve had a few years,i got it from hugo driptip in about 2004,she`s a beauty,it is definately one of my all time top favorites..i dont think there is many around,i think i`ve only ever seen one on ebay in years...if you like sharp, you should look out for one,you will love it,the sound is amaizing, loud and clear..

bredgeo - 2009-09-13 12:21

Yeah, yeah.... No, I had one but sold it... That is why the question 'cause I cannot remember who I sold it to. I thought it might have been you. It is a three piece, right?

I know the sound quality was/is great! I just have (since the get go) imposed myself boxes and not three pieces, that is the only reason why I sold it. So it was not you.

Well, keep that baby rockin'!!!!!!!!!!!! Wink

Sharp-well known for its GF- and VZ- series, interesting designs and good sounding boomboxes
Sony-for excellent build quality and brand reuptation.
Akai-not as well-known as others, but did make some interesting boxes (like the AJ-R205).
