eh up folks from sunny beautiful yorkshire
still buzzing from my tenner gf525 purchase a couple of days ago.
anyway, down to business: was hoping someone could provide some answers to the folowing?
1) why did sharp produce so many different versions of the 525- ie 515,etc- theyre all based on the 525- there were other model numbers that essentially were the 525, cant remember them off by heart.
2)how rare is the 525 in great britain? i read on pocket calculator shows site that the 525 is a rare model in this country.
3) how many others here bar me and fuzzy actually have these? i'd love to see pictures of them too!!!!
mine is in generally good nick- has a scrape on one side and slight paint removal on speaker grille but other than that its quite mint- none of this is that noticable.
long live the sharp GF- i love them!!!!!!!
andy.

Always put me off those, from a purely visual aspect.
And yes, very common on UK ebay, along with the GF-555 and the Hitachi TRK-8190.
ah well, just thought i had a rare one on my hands. aye, the comment you guys made about the grilles not lining up with the speakers- i had noticed that on mine and actually wondered if someone had been in it at some time and not lined it back up right again. good to know.
and by the way Paul-please keep an eye out for me at that mega car boot youre going to mate- looking for more minis (sharp qt77, etc) and any cheap 1 piece units from sanyo (i have no sanyo's yet)
and finally any toshiba bombeats- the bigger the better- if you get chance mate!!!!
yep paul- if im ever in reading ill look you up!
cheers

Congratulations, they are good sounding and very well built machines.
Here's mine...
hello fuzzy.
yeah these are nice. i am still in shock about getting one. if im honest yours looks a tad better nick than mine. thats not to say that mines rough cos it isnt! but well done on getting yours too.
i hope you keep on enjoying it, fuzzy.
andy.
Thanks Andy V.
I was in shock as well when I spotted it at the carboot, it was fairly late in the morning and was very surprised it hadn't gone long before.
yes still buzzing fuzzy. been to the carboot this morning- had some luck as it happens (for once) found a working toshiba rt5160s,pye tr9559 (in bad nick but nearly all works), an itt sl53 tape recorder, and an amstrad 6010 radio and aircraft/marine scanner. got the lot all for well under a tenner. not bad, eh? i just love the scanner!!!!
