Just refoamed the speakers of my AIWA CS-880.



The result is awesome. Now it is a real high fidelity boombox

I compared it to my JVC M70, Sharp GF9000 and GF777. The Aiwa beats them all.

That's good to hear, another early eighties 'box booming properly again.

The speakers in my Aiwa CA-W20 needed re-foaming, but I never got them done. The 'box is with another owner now. I always wondered how good it would sound with new foams...

Yes the CS880 sounds so very nice. I've owned 2 of them.
One of the warmest sounding boxes out there.

Get it cleaned. It`s bloody filthy man .

It beats the GF777 in what? Sound quality, loudness? Would love to see a comparo video of the two....

I'm sure my GF-777 would beat that Aiwa in loudness.

I like this box

I'm not surprised it betters that lot for sound quality. This one is supposed to be pretty much the best there ever was for 1pc boomers. It's passive radiator configuration gives it such as advantage. I wonder how it would stack up against an M90?
