This listing on NYCs Craigslist is for a modified C100, done in Breakin' style, which is
whatever, but he says that there is somewhere in the bronx that remanufactures them to original specs...anyone have any idea what he's talking about or is he just BSing trying to sell a messed up unit?
IF there were a place in the bronx that restores them, somebody here would know
AND the tapes would be working and he'd have more info than that
I bet he is full of it.

from historical view - great, but original one looks much better for me.
Nasty messed up paintwork... it's my opinion.
I'm from the Bronx and I haven't seen any stores or warehouses that does such restoration for these classics. I've seen that same ad on craigslist too. I don't like the colorful design. I don't even like the movie. If there is such place in the Bronx that restores boomboxes to it's original state, I will definitely let you guys know. it may exist. I mean I saw classsic cars, nintendos, boats, etc fully restored to it's original. So why not
boomboxes? bet they have machines that build parts for our boomers
They do Nintendos now? Amazing.
well they sell new parts on ebay .. you know that part where you insert the cartridge and sometimes it has trouble staying down to run the game? thats because its worn out so they sell new parts, and those cartridge doors, controllers, etc
That was the street look back then on most box's carried around town hip and lookin to battle. Not for everyone though, remanufacturing boombox's to spec's is cool compared to remaking them again,With an inflation calculater the cost for company's would be triple the original cost it was back in the 80's.So an example a brand new JVC-PC55 today would be around $1,500
Not including tax
they have reposted this ad about 5 times now, so i figured i'd bite and ask how much they wanted. based on the language i had a feeling they wanted a ton of cash, so when they wrote back with " 500" i was not surprised.
