Hey all, haven't stopped by in a while.
I work for Fuji and they sent me to Japan on a business trip in February. So of course I wanted to check out Turbosonic. The owners have started a new shop called Charm Wags. It sells dog toys/supplies and the proceeds benefit animal rescue/shelters. There is a relatively small Turbosonic display in the shop, but there are a lot of gems there. They are not for sale. Turbosonic mainly does a rental business now. They rent out boomboxes for filming, art installations, etc. They will take orders for boomboxes and charge 50% of the original retail price. I only saw the retail location, not the warehouse I heard about.
Anyway here are the pictures on Flickr. Check them out!
Turbosonic picsMy coworkers also took me to Akihabara and I saw some cool gear in some of the shops there. Here are a couple of nice small-to-mid-sized ones:

Boy, I'd sure love to get my hands on that McKenzie!!! That double-cassette deck, and those quad speakers, send shivers up my spine!!!
That would definately be an attention getter at the park!!!

Hey all,
I did not get any boomboxes in Japan unfortunately, the prices were quite high at retail locations. I got a couple of cheap broken laptops and I got a Princeton paper boombox NXT speaker. I have not put it together yet, it's still unopened.
