got this off bushy dave today in a swap, ive wanted one for long time. been rocking it all day it sounds safe as!

its got one of my tr606's hooked upto it for oldskool appeal

"wow" she looks sweet as bill, iv,e always loved the 9191 and now iv,e seen one in black it,s on my wanted list.
very nice pic she looks immac too, how do you rate it? sound, looks, so on .
also if anyone out there knows the year this lovely box was made please could you let me know, thanks .

it sounds much the same as i remember my 9090 sounding like. which was good, just a tight no nonsense box. looks fukin A! i like the looks - its just typical ghettoblaster all over. its got the vibe.

ill probably use this as my take down to the beach in the summer box this year. last year i used to use the better of my 2 crowns, it was a 9494 back in the day that was the daily before that.


only thing bugging me is the treble seems to be phasing in and out, i dont know if its the machine or the tape doing that though.

any ideas?

andy..only just seen this..thats a nice box man..
i think the 9090/9191 ect,came out around 1979/80/81..that sound thingy might be down to the tape transport..make sure you try more than one tape before you take action,if it does the same on more than one tape it could be a worn pinch roller or might be the azimuth screw needs slight ajustment

i was going to say if it,s doing it on the radio as well as the tape, then it will be the machine, but if it,s only happening on tape then it,s the tape mech.
im not up on tech side bill but i believe gettoman is.

you should of seen the heads turn being 34yrs old did,nt bother me 1 bit

cheers chappies, i actually added that chopper in afterwards as it was looking abit empty, the sky isnt that inky down here though either, oh dear im full of fakes today! those mountains arent even real mountains.... you knew that though right?

it was a hella sunny day though with no clouds so the sky was nice and blue for a change!
