hi all, i know this machine isn,t a boombox but still nice piece of retro kit.
i came across a strange looking system earlier today, i was browsing an antiques collectables shop which do have boxes in rarely, and i came across a hitachi opus ll cd double tape player.
it was very unusual in design, sorry no pics
the guy in the shop was playing a cd on it and it sounded great, i asked him to crank it up a bit and it handled bass very well.
i really liked the style of it and asked him the price, he replied £140, i have dealt with the guy before and he said he would let me have it for £120.
i really like this machine but is it worth that kind of cash? i don,t have that kind of cash spare but i was curious of it,s value.
does anybody know anything of this system? would appreciate any info, cheers in advance

Had a couple of these in the past and they always look and sound great with top 80s styling.Worth buying if the unidirectional speakers are with it but nowhere near the £120 price tag.

thanks mansion, ye it has the original speakers, there weird looking things with like a disc inside the top part, the guy originally wanted £140 and to be honest i would of paid it if id of had it.
it really sounds great and looks so 80,s that,s why i liked it, maybe il,e pick one up at a booty for a fiver this summer

Yeah the last one I got was a car boot special £5 with no speakers ,both door hinges broken ,dead as a dodo and no remote.Only bought it for spares so these things do turn up but buyer beware...lol
