In Lithuania we celebrate
Street Musician Day every first saturday of May. Is person alone with his drumm-set, is it a DJ crew with turntables, is it just a kid with his flute, is it oldskool grandpa with his harmonica, or is it big hard-rock band - everyone can play music with their instruments all around the streets, parks etc. Some people are performing music with instruments and voices, but some are walking with.. the boomboxes! ;] Here's some pics of the crew of my friends, called Boombox Walkers. They maybe do not collect boomboxes, but they organize "Boombox Walks" sometimes. Nice crowd is just walking down the streets with some loud and funkie music played via big Crown boombox and just having great time and lot's of fun. At this fest we had about 60-70 people and about 8 bbxes, playing same (90's rap, funk and breaks)music at the same time, enjoy:
