hi all, i managed to get the voltage converter today for the blockbuster
bought it from maplin electronics at a whopping cost of £29.99p
had to pay that much because the cheaper ones was too low wattage for the GE.
anyway i got it home rigged up the blockbuster and... wait for it... POWER YES all i can say is it sounds awesome loads of bass and crisp highs, very cool responsive twin needles, it is no doubt a beautiful excellent sounding machine.
just want to say thanks to GETTOMAN for he,s info on the converter about the wattage which was bang on
and thanks again to DRIPTIP for trading me this wonderful machine.
THANKS GUYS YOUR AWESOME
pics please lav
Oh heck. I could had given you one for now`t lad.

No Probs man..s'all good..and Yup,chip pan,cough errrm a mean litfan
(just an old joke) is a good guy,he'd help you out if he can..should have kept his humongous collection though,i wanted that damm GF999..
well who knows, but for now im enjoying it
glad you are so happy with it mate-my hitachi arrived half hour ago-quite dissapointed with it really
but your blockbuster-what a box!it was worth it in the end
sorry to heart about the hitachi, i suggest to you andy that you keep rushing in, buying any box and this is what happens
i think you should hold out for better boxes instead of buying anything just for the sake of a score.
the cash you spent on the few boxes over last few days could of bought you something better
a nice 1 piece maybe
i take it back az mate-and go on record as saying that hitachi is brilliant
put it in a different spot, and the accoustics work brilliantly with the bass on this thing-it is really, really loud.on some tapes it runs rings round my pc v33.why couldnt the jvc handle the disco hit "funky town" by lipps inc, and the hitachi could, with room to spare
its not often i get told to turn it down because my folks can hear the bass thumping-2 FLIGHTS OF STAIRS DOWN!!!!!!!
Andy: are you talking about trk-8190? If yes, then i recommend to change the tweeter filter capacitors. See this thread:
hitachi
those blockbusters are all-around terrific--
nice going for you and driptip
thanks REDBENJOE,
...the Blockbuster is one of my favorites...but I can never listen to it because it is in my daughters room and she loves it more!!
kids eh, it,s not going to be long before my lad is after my boxes
yeah, and my little girl alreday wants mine-and shes only 6!
hey muto-i used to have an 8290 that i considered as flat as hell-the loudness switch did nothing to boost the bass at all!as an alternative if you flip the switch on for the gf8585's loudness the difference is apparent right away.
but my new hitachi trk w550e 3 piece has to be the bassiest hitachi ever.
