Howdy all, yesterday i was doing some mix tapes on my philips d8614, i record on this box because the recordings are excellent, especially using BASF chrome tapes.
anyway i got to thinking about all the whistles and bells some boxes have on them, the philips has a good few but i don,t really use them.
i have boxes with things like mic mixing, and fader controls e.t.c.
some boxes have some great features on but i don,t really go past using stuff like manual record level and other basic features.
it would be nice to know if any other members use any of the extras on there boxes and also what your most feature packed boxes are or box is, also does anyone still make their own mix tapes
Hey lav, i always try to do my recordings as simple as possible.
The best unit for gadgets by far is the jvc pc55
its the best deck in the world imho has things like dolby c 21 track music search and you can even make your own eq recordings on her... not forgetting that beutiful crystal display....
HUGO i am quiet the same mate, i like to do things with as much simplicity as poss
RENO the pc5 you talk about is a great looking unit and the display like you say is awesome
should have grabbed one of you when i had the chance
Here's a vid I made I while back of making a dub of a mixtape on Sharp GF 575. using its high speed dubbing feature.
i was looking for a link there MZ
hey cool stuff lets keep tapes alive
high speed dub is a cool feature but i don,t think ive even ever used it, nice 575 by the way, i loved mine i used to have
Yeah I think you just need to click in the pic for the vid.
ye i should of tried that first time, old skool electro stuff eh, cool

Monolithic, what is that box in your avatar? Does it really have green lights for the VU's? And what is the square in the upper left corner of it? Signal strength?
It's a Toshiba BomBeat RT-S90.
The green square is just a decorative light for the
adres system.
Damn, that's sick! Great photography too.
thats spectacular

It's 13 7/8" H x 23 5/8" L x a little over 6" D which is about the same height as an M90 but a few inches shorter lengthwise.

I honestly don't know, but probably has/had to do with Japanese TV channels that broadcast on radio.
EDIT: Just did a little research... Turns out that if you had an FM wireless microphone, that would be the FM range (78MHz) you'd tune to in order to be heard thru the speakers. That range was probably only good for Japan tho but could probably be used here as well.

Well, how big/tall is Litfan? Also, you have to consider the angle & distance from the camera.
well RELI,MONO has posted up that it,s just short of the m90 in length, but as tall, so it,s still way bigger than i thought

OK, that makes sense, like the old "Mr. Microphone"...."Hey Baby, we'll be back to pick up you later!". Man, chicks must have been really easy in the 70's!
That's cool though, they put a tuning spot on the dial for you!
Nice pics Monolithic!

It looks portable and it even takes batts and has a handle... but the stupid thing is lav the speakers are free standing IE they dont fix onto the box
so basically then we are talking hi fi here
that,s a shame, it would make a dream box that looking at it
anyway how are you, ya mad geordie geezer
I found a manual cover, I remember other CDX models as well that would have made awsome boxes.

lol not sure how big a 555 is dude but ya a quality box apart from it only runs on 100v
I plugged a 110v converter in mine and blew it up not to worry tho the box was knackered anyway....
im afraid its not homie... its the same as the a5
ive actually seen that one in the flesh, member DAVEBUSH has one, it looks very much like the c5
The RX A-2/6400 runs on 10 "D" cells, but you cant carry it around while playing. I have one right under my desk.
sweet confirmation
