The power switch on my M60 broke (pot metel failure).

Question; Can I use the function switch as a on/off switch ? Is all power killed when it's in the tape position ? I don't want juice running in the unit when no ones around.

I found this JVC for S7.00 at the Salvation Army and I must say I do like it......not a beast like some JVC's, but a medium sized bbx w/shortwave & full logic tape controls.

What does the switch look like?

Just a small on/off metal toggle power switch 1/2" x 1/8" in size. It can still be used, but a pen is needed to switch it. I'm leaving it in the ON position and using the funtion switch in the RADIO position to listen to music.

The function switch seems to cut power when in the TAPE position and then pressing play, FF or rewind activates power.

I'm just asking because some bbx's have no power switch, just RADIO or TAPE.
