Guys, there's absolutely nothing wrong with a healthy debate, but we can do without the Insults.

I think one thing that might help is for people to be more descriptive when they say that a box has great sound. What does that mean? Great stereo separation? A wide field? Great clarity and detail? Great bass? And if it has great bass, at what volume level? Take the GE 3-6035A for instance, it has good bass at high volume, but at low volume it's pretty weak in my opinion.

guys, if i have offended anyone i am sorry, i never meant to offend, but i took it as a bit of an insult when matrixambience said philips can,t make boxes, and their only good at making light bulbs, then he offered me to sort it out in pm,s thinking i was getting heated when i clearly was,nt.

I do apologize for making that statement to everyone who supports Philips brand boomboxes. I didn't mean to offend, just sometimes when I want to "type" something humorous...it backfires and it is read out of context.Its amazing what a little smiley face or an "LOL" does after making a comment.
