I am looking into a portable boom box that will fill up a good area with decent sound. I have done some research and I am down to 3 models that I think are worthy of a look. However, I would like some input from people who know these and can tell me what they think is the best way to go for loudest and best sounding portable.
These are the three:
JVC Boom Blaster RV-NB52

iKICK iK501 | KICKER
http://www.kicker.com/iK501Can anyone give a recommendation for the best in these three? I have looked high and low and I can't find any place that has them in stock where I can play them side by side either.
Thanks, I am having a pool party and would like to have one of these to play outdoors for large areas with friends and family.
Er...
I dont have any of these but I doubt you would beat a JVC for what you want it for.
I don’t know any of the ones you have listed but have a listen to the B&W Zeppelin

The Zep is far superior, however I don't see it being portable. I think it is intended for inside use, and the others I am focusing on are the best for outside use.
Well, I went with the Altec Lansing for a few reasons:
- Better built than the JVC
- JVC use to be better made then went to 40 watts from the 52 from old school boom box of the same name
- There is no CD player
- Has a radio built in if I need one
- Has multiple inputs for different medias
- Built in Eq to be able to adjust as you want
- Has a bar to hold in the player from falling out
- Remote is pretty good with an actual bay to hold it
- Kicker iPod stand out is on it's own, and the unit pushes so much bass it actually bounces around, to me not a good combination
- Looks more durable for outdoor use than Kicker and setup easier to move around
- Price is about the same in all very little difference
That to me is the reasons I went with the Altec, and there are many positive reviews. I think that at this point it comes down to features and any one of these would be a good fit for most. I hope that helps anyone else out that is looking and needs some help.
i would say altec as well. there was a review done on it from some members here try and find it in the forums.
If you chose the Altec you will be very happy with it.
