What do you think? Any experience? I think its right about now... At least here where i live! The fleas are packed with radios and audio stuff! I think ive seen more radios this week than over the whole year all together. Maybe people are more willing to get rid of stuff when its getting darker or something?
well that depends where you live, at this time of year it's getting lighter down under
my experience would be summertime because that's when iv'e had my best finds
also there's not many bootsales on here in the uk in winter time, flea markets ye, but not many bootsales
Here are almost no bootsales ever... think it aint a part of finnish culture. This summer and heck the whole year has been really poor (radio wise).
ye these boxes are sure getting rarer, really it's all about luck, you could go to a flea market 9 times out of 10, and the one time you miss going, "bang" you could have just missed a real nice box
i believe that's how it works
The reason it's harder to find boxes is because "professional re-sellers" hit the fleas/bootsales as soon as they open, before anyone else gets there. They grab a ton of stuff and then post it on Ebay. It's how they earn a living. They're not collectors, they're scavangers.
I just change the time on my watch and then more people are getting rid of stuff.
i think its in the spring when it s spring cleaning and garage sales gaoler. HOwever i had my best find at a value village last week ever after a year of dropping in. a jvc something somehthing. forgot the model #, its in storage and small one, looks like late 70's.
The flea market sellers have thinned out drastically here. If you go to a place that had 100 dealers two years ago today you might see maybe 20 or even less.
Why? Those I have talked to say they aren't making any money, sometimes not even enough to cover the $15 gate fee and the fuel to get there.
The economy got hit so hard here that people aren't even buying used stuff anymore. Usually when things get bad people do just that because it's cheaper than new, but it's grown even beyond that it seems.
When is the best time? I hate to sound all doom and gloom, but from the looks of it there isn't one. Perhaps when things get better, and they will at some point I'm sure.
