My brother has moved and cleared out stuff. I managed to get the sharp GF 666 from him otherwise knowing him he probably would have dumped this in the bin which would be sad for such a good unit in it's day.

I was surprised that the unit is all working apart from the switches being crackling when moving over but tapes and everything else works fine so far.

I may sell it but can't help wondering what was the difference from the Shap GF 555 to the 666 as both really look the same but the door panel looks slightly different.

It would be useful if i could get more info from you guys & dolls as it would be very much appreciated.

I think the 666 had a tape speed (pitch) slider control. Not sure of the other (if any) differences.

one is the 555 the other has hell and fire, turn up the volume, all that shizzle gets released. it was the satan edition or something i heard only available on the 6th of june 1986

I have often wondered the same thing. There is a 555 and a 666 for sale on ebay for the same price.
