ok guys, i just wanted to post up a thread about how i started collecting boxes well, it started nearly 6 years back now, i was browsing cd's in a store and came across a cd with a pic of a vz 2000 on the cover.
i have always loved 80's music and when i seen the vz 2000 on the cover of the 80's cd, i was mesmorised by it.
i never knew it was a vz 2000 at the time because i knew nothing about boxes, but anyway here's a pic below of the cd that got my box fascination going, it was defo love at first sight for me

I had no idea what it was, I just wanted it, went idly surfing the web & landed on s2g.
Then I decided to collect all the boomers I'd owned over the years.
Then the ones my brother owned.
Then, for no good reason, I decided to try for every Hitachi 3D boomer ever made.
...& a few others I liked the look of.

similar circumstances here I42, love that double album cover of the vz2500, i never thought id'e be here collecting 6 yrs on though to be honest, still it's all good and i would'nt swap it for nothing, i do look at that album cover sometimes and think to myself...your the most expensive cd i ever bought

i really started collecting about 10 years ago after having only one box left the 80's a jvc m90 ,then i found a jvc pc -11 about 10 years ago at a yard sale for $20.00 it reminded me just how awesome the old skool boxes were and iv'e been collecting ever since ,and i still have those two boxes .

My interest goes back 34 years when my dad brought home a Sony CF-580. Decades later it inspired me to write this article -

By 1979 I ownd eight boomboxes...all my friends thought I was nuts.

for me, back in 79' thats when i got my first MONO SANYO as a gift loved boxes ever since.

Mine goes back 31 years when I got a brand new, in-the-box, Panasonic 5150 for Christmas. Best gift a 12 year old could ever get.
