Hi guys,i am expecting a parcel from usa,i just checked the tracking and this is the message i get..
============================================
The U.S. Postal Service was electronically notified by the shipper on December 17, 2010 to expect your package for mailing. This does not indicate receipt by the USPS or the actual mailing date. Delivery status information will be provided if / when available. Information, if available, is updated periodically throughout the day. Please check again later.

What does this mean ? i cant work it out,does it mean that its been shipped,or its going to be shipped ? its confusing...

Damm thats hard,especially waiting for something you really wanted/always wanted..
When hugo sent me the GF9500 it only took about a week,but it was in summer,we have been getting alot of bad weather here so i suppose that could delay it..i am probebly going to get my parcel in january..but same with me,i'm waiting for something i've always wanted,but at the moment i'm not hurting,which if you can be pacient it makes it easier..
Yup,the horrible weather you guys in the U.K.are getting
that is why they tell me it's taking so long to get here
The USPS number you were given is probably a delivery confirmation number, and not a tracking number. Basically, it gives notification that an item has been delivered. Unlike UPS or Fedex, they do not have as sophisticated tracking system.
As for why you are getting the message that you got -- it's because the shipper ordered postage online so the post office is "expecting" the package to be mailed. However, if the shipper did not print out a scan form, which is a bar coded shipping manifest, the package will not be entered into the system, even when shipped. And since it's a delivery confirmation number and not a true tracking number, you won't get periodic updates on the status. It's possible it doesn't even show up in the sytem until it's actually been delivered. I expect, however, that it will take about 10 days to 2 weeks to receive. If it gets hung up at customs, it could take a month.
He used USPS because that is the cheapest way for us Americans to ship overseas. Just like when you ship to us, you use DHL which then gets transferred to USPS upon arrival in the States.
For us to use UPS or FedEx to ship to you would be too expensive.
its because it takes a while to update in the system unlike ups and fedex which is a bit more detailed....but eventually you will see an update...usually it will say if it cleared customs or arrival of the dispatch area or has arrived in your country but takes a while just be patient....hope that helps....
