I always said i'd never buy a boombox newer then, let's say 1985. And being a collector of the not so popular Sony brand (mostly pre 1979), I broke my own rule and just bought a Sony CFD V17 w/ cassette & cd for $4.00. My guess is it dates to 2000-05? It's really not bad for a kick about bbx....the mega bass sounds weak and materials and constuction quality is light years away from the Sony of the 1970s.

For a modern unit, it's better looking then 90% of whats out there and performance is decent.
